S African Anglican archbishop condemns doctors' strike

The Anglican archbishop of Cape Town, Thabo Makgoba, has condemned an ongoing strike by South African doctors because of its devastating effect on the country's poor, reports Ecumenical News International.

"The strike is a sad state of affairs, as it once again hits the poorest of the poor. Those who have the means can go to private doctors, but the poor will go without care and some will die," said Archbishop Makgoba in a 2 July statement.
